Duh!-lux Burger
Ingredients:
1 box yellow cake mix (plus ingredients according to package directions)
2 tablespoons light corn syrup
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
6 large chocolate cookies
1 can white frosting
Red and yellow food coloring
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º F. You will need to use six (6) ramekins or some
other 4 inch round baking dish. Spray them with non-stick cooking spray.
Make the cake mix according to the package directions. Pour the batter
evenly into each of the baking dishes. Bake for approximately 20
minutes, or until golden brown and springy in the center.
Carefully remove the cakes from the dishes and cool on a wire rack.
While they are cooling, place some frosting in two separate small bowls.
Mix in a few drops of the red food coloring to one bowl and blend well.
Make it dark to look like ketchup. Once you have a nice dark red, spoon
it into a Ziploc baggie and seal tight. In the other bowl, mix the red
and yellow food coloring into the frosting, blending well to make it the
color of American cheese.
Once the cakes are cool, cut each of them in half (side to side). Brush
the top of each "bun" with corn syrup and then sprinkle with a few
sesame seeds.
Place a cookie on the bottom of each bun. Spread on a layer of the
"American cheese" frosting. For the "ketchup", carefully cut off a small
corner of the Ziploc bag, Squeeze the frosting out and onto the
"cheese", just like ketchup. Put on the top half of the bun and serve
with Fools French Fries. |
