Sugar Heart Candy Dish

Sugar Heart Candy Dish

Materials:
Heart shaped mini cake pan (6 hearts per pan)
Sugar
Eggs
Store-bought icing tubes (if desired)
Mini Chewy Sweetarts, Sweetheart Hearts, Mini Chewy Spree and Spree Hearts
Craft glue or craft glue gun and glue sticks

Directions:
  1. In a bowl, combine 3 cups granulated sugar and 1 egg white. Rub with hands until thoroughly mixed.
  2. Pack sugar mixture firmly into heart molds.
  3. Scrape tops level with spatula, returning extra sugar to bowl.
  4. With a spoon, gently scoop sugar mixture from the center of each heart, to make a shell 1/2 to 5/8 inch thick.
  5. Invert a baking sheet over hearts. Holding on two sides, invert again and tap each heart gently before carefully lifting heart pan off. If any hearts break, wash and dry heart pan, then fill again, reusing sugar mixture.
  6. Set sugar hearts in warm place and allow to dry at least two hours and preferably overnight.
  7. Using craft glue or a glue gun, adhere desired candy to the outside of the top and bottom of the sugar heart.
  8. Decorate candies with icing tubes, if desired.
  9. Fill the bottom heart with Valentine's Day Candy
  10. Cover with decorated sugar heart top.
