Sand Cast

Items you will need:

Sand
shallow box (gift boxes are great)
plaster of paris
water
bowl or coffee can
aluminum foil
disposable spoon
paper clip
stick (pencil will work)
newspaper

What to do:

Cover work area with newspaper. Line the box with aluminum foil, careful not to leave it open for leaks. Fill the box half way with sand add a small amount of water to make it moist. Smooth sand and make it level. Draw a simple picture in the sand or make a hand print or foot print. Mix plaster of paris in bowl/coffee can with water. Following the directions to get a creamy consistency. Quickly pour the plaster in the sand print. Smooth the plaster with a spoon, add a paper clip for a hanger. Let plaster dry. Remove from sand when completely DRY.
