Irish Scones

Irish Scones

Ingredients:
2-1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
7/8 cup milk (Use your math skills on this one!)
Powdered sugar

Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 F

Combine all dry ingredients. Cut in butter. Add milk and, using hands, work into a dough.

Turn onto floured surface, roll out and cut into eight pieces. Place on lightly floured baking sheet. Brush top of scone with milk and sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Bake 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown.

*Children should always be supervised when preparing or cooking in the kitchen.
