Cooked Clay

Homemade modeling clay and play dough

Alum Play Dough
This is one of the best homemade play dough around.

Ingredients:
3 teaspoons alum (available in the grocery)
1 1/2 cups flour
1 cup salt
1 cup boiling water
2 teaspoons vegetable oil

Directions:
1. Combine the dry ingredients in the mixing bowl.
2. Add the boiling water and the oil.
3. Mix thoroughly.
4. Add this point you can add tempera paints to create a desired color.

Model the dough and let it air dry overnight or store unused dough in an airtight container.

*Children should always be supervised when preparing or cooking in the kitchen.
