The Story of Hammy and Crabby

One day Katie and her friend went on a camping trip. They wanted very much to go fishing. So they made a fishing pole out of a stick, string and ham. They caught two crawdads. Katie named hers hammy and put it in the horse trough. Her friend put hers in a fish tank.

The camp was near Katie's grandma's house near Mount Lassen. So she kept track of the crawdads.

One day Katie's grandma wrote to let Katie know that Hammy and Crabby were now on a log in a pond and very happy.

So Katie is happy that the crawdads are in a good place.
